If an employee is coming back to work after a leave, then he is supposed to take the DOT drug test. This is done to make sure that the employee wasn’t hooked up drugs in his vacations.

 If any employee fails the drug test, then they are immediately removed and relieved from their duties. They can also lose their certification or maybe their driving license, depending on the company’s policy.

It is mandatory for all safety-sensitive employees to undergo through the DOT drug test. Safety-sensitive employees are those whose jobs are responsible for their own safety and also for the safety of the public.
